About Magic Tricks For Kids

Why Magic Tricks For Kids?

magic trick for kids logo lores

Magic tricks for kids is a friendly, on-line information hub for children aged 6 to 14 who are either students of magic or are looking to learn to do magic tricks. Magic is a popular hobby that is fun to do and it also has the additional benefit of boosting self-confidence and social skills. Top international magicians like Dynamo magician impossible, David Blaine and Chris Angel have shown how cool magic is and their TV shows popularity prove that magic is in demand and that people love watching a good magician. Magic is trendy and we are here to help kids learn magic tricks in a supportive friendly environment.

Why is Magic Tricks For Kids different?

Kenneth and Kristen Kelly, founders of Magic Tricks for KidsThere are many videos and websites on-line showing how magic tricks are done but most of them fail to address the true secret of being a magician.
The thing that makes a good trick great is the way that it is presented. On this site we show you how to put your personality into your magic and how to get great, amazed reactions. Most of the other websites we found were aimed at adults and often the explanations were confusing or unclear and many of the tricks needed larger hands.
Some of the kids magician sites that we found had tricks on that were too simple and did not amaze anyone so we felt it was time to create a website to teach proper magic tricks for kids who wish to learn this wonderful art.

Who is the Magic Teacher?

Magical Dad, Ken Kelly

Magician Ken Kelly Founder of Magic Tricks for KidsHi, I’m Ken Kelly, a professional magician and magic has been my full-time job for over 30 years. I got interested in magic when I was 6 years old because of a magic set I got from my Grandmother and today Colette and I both work as children’s entertainers in Cheshire England. We run a kids entertainment company called Magic 4 Children.
I remember how frustrated I was when I first wanted to learn magic properly; all I could find were either simple tricks everyone could work out or tricks that were so complicated I couldn’t do them. I had small hands so I struggled to hold cards and coins but I so wanted to do magic and amaze my friends.
I stuck to my magic and went on to win a number of national magic awards but the one I remember most fondly was when I won the junior magician of the year trophy when I was only 10 years old.
I have been a part of teaching young people magic for many years and I love sharing the knowledge of this wonderful hobby as it has done so much for me in my life. The creation of magictricksforkids.org allows me to share my magic tricks and lessons on-line and I hope that you will join in and become part of the community.

Magic Teacher, Julian Mather

You know how Ken (that fellow above with no hair) just said he started magic at 6 years old. Not me, I didn’t start until I was about 30 years old.

I’m not a magic expert like Ken. What I love doing is explaining how to do easy magic. That’s why Magic Tricks For Kids is such a great place to learn how to do magic tricks..

Are you into fun magic, that’s entertaining magic, magic that makes people smile?

So do over 100,000 other people on my Youtube channel, Julian’s Magic School. They subscribed to the easy to do tricks that I just love and they’ve watched them more than 20 million times.

I make my money by entertaining people with magic. I’m going to give you my biggest tip right here, right now.

Remember this …

With every trick you learn here, you need to add one extra little thing: a smile.

Smiling will take your tricks to the next level.

Get ready … read this quote from Dr Suess then start learning your first magic trick.

Smiling is infectious
You can catch it like the flu
Someone smiles at me today
And I started smiling too

Kristen Kelly doing magic

Magician’s apprentice, Kristen Kelly

Hi, I’m Kristen and Kenneth is my Dad and Colette is my Mum. Benny is my dog and I love him to bits.

I have been surrounded by magic all my life. I remember my dad making coins appear from behind my ears when I was 3. He did a magic show at my 5th birthday party and I just loved it.

Then when I was 6, our local council ran a talent competition, called Warrington’s Got Talent. I decided to enter… with a magic show. Not only did I sail through all the heats to the semi-finals, I won 1st prize for the 5 – 11 year age category.  I was so stunned by the trophy, I didn’t hear when they called my name to come forward for the press photograph!

I performed the same show in front of an audience of over 400 when I was 7. I was so nervous, but they loved it!

Now I’ve joined Mum and Dad in the making of magictricksforkids.org and had the greatest fun. I hope you have as much fun making the magic tricks on the site as I did.

Behind the scenes Mum, Colette Kelly

Colette Kelly Magic tricks for Kids

Hello, my name is Colette. I am Kenneth’s wife and Kristen’s Mum.

Being a magician’s wife has always been very interesting. It makes for great conversations as dinner parties and social get togethers.

I remember the very first magic trick Kenneth showed me, just after we met. It was awesome! I remember the disbelief and amazement I felt seeing REAL magic happen in front of my very own eyes.

Now, many years after seeing that first magic trick performed, I can add my own little bit of ‘magic’ to magictricksforkids.org with photographs and graphic design. And don’t forget the all important job of pressing the ‘record’ button on the video camera when we filmed the videos!

This project has been hugely enjoyable and I hope that the things you’ll learn here will be with you throughout your magic career.

Barking Benny, doorbell and family pet

Magic Tricks for Kids doorbell Benny

I am Benny the Dog. I am the Kelly family’s pet. They are as mad as hatters, let me tell you, but they are a lovely bunch non the less…

I have a very important job, you know. Not any old dog could do what I do.

I am the official doorbell. I bark and go crazy when the post arrives. I won’t want the Kelly’s not to know when they post and parcels have been delivered.

For the rest of my day, I do the necessary sleeping, eating and lying about to make sure I am ready to announce the next postal delivery.

I wish you well in your quest in becoming a master magician. Should you require the services of a doorbell, get in touch. Woof woof.
