Magic Lessons #77 – Need a Magic Hand?
This Need a Magic Hand trick requires you to acquire a small toy doll which you will eventually destroy. It shouldn’t be too much trouble to locate one of these.
If you are stuck for places to look, start by looking in your toy box or you can go to your local charity shop and you should be able to find a doll there. If all else fails, you can always do a quick Google search and you will be able to find one there.
Creating the Magic Hand:
For this “Need a Hand?” trick you will need to be able to force a card. The one I used was the Hindu Force. Then you need to remove the arm off the doll. The doll will need to have hollow arms that you can fit your pinky into. If the arm is too big, you can always put your own padding into the arm to make it fit better on your pinky.
If you are confused on how to intertwine your fingers in order to present the small hand, I explain how to do this in the video. This gives the illusion your hands are fully closed. Of course, one of the fingers wouldn’t be visible if you were to look closely but from experience, this rarely happens.
Once the chosen card has been revealed, make your doll hand fall back behind the cover of your clasped hands. You can avoid people inquiring about the hand by saying that no one can look at the hand or the magic will cease to exist. Be sure to have another magic trick prepared and ready to go so people can’t follow up on the whereabouts of the hand.
If you have the time, be sure to have a look at Micheal Ammar’s trick called “The Little Hand“. The trick involves a custom made prop that Micheal uses to make the hand steal a coin. His trick is far better than this trick and the handling of the prop is amazing. Michael Ammar is truly a master at his craft.

BLATANT USAGE OF A MARKETED TRICK
Great trick. I look forward to performing it to see what the reaction is. Instead of glue or tape, I cut a small slit between the thumb and forefinger of the doll’s hand just wide enough to partially insert the card. It holds great Thanks for sharing – I love your site!!
My comment should have said “between the thumb and POINTER finger” – thanks.
